Three Men On Tour: 20

We decided we’d probably exhausted the possibilities of Burford. It was pretty enough but, for some reason, we all agreed it might be wise if we left as soon as possible. When we got back to the car, Harry rubbed his hands together.

“Right,“ he said. “Let’s fire up this Sat-Nav. We’ve got it, we might as well use it.“

George and I huddled over a map, while Harry sought for buttons on the flat square of plastic.

“Basically,“ said George, “our options are Cirencester, Cheltenham or Gloucester. There’s a farmers’ market I’d rather like to go to in Stroud, but that’s on the way back so we can do that after and maybe stop off for a cream tea.“

“Recalculating,“ said the Sat-Nav in the background. We ignored it as Harry swore and pressed at buttons.

“I don’t know,“ I admitted. “I’m not sure what Jamie’s expecting.“

“Well, if you don’t have a preference,“ said George shyly, “I did rather like the look of the Waterways museum in Gloucester.“

“Please drive to highlighted route,“ trilled the Sat-Nav.

“I haven’t given you a bloody route,“ growled Harry. “You’re supposed to be finding our current location.“

“Alright,“ I agreed. “Let’s go.“
